Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Question 1) I have VSP insurance coverage that isn't provided through Walmart, will I be able to use my VSP benefits to pay for my order?

No. has partnered with VSP for the Walmart Vision Plan ONLY; they are NOT In-Network or Out-of-Network providers for VSP. VSP will not accept claims from for anything else.

Question 2) What portion of my benefits can I use to purchase contact lenses online?

Associates can use their full Contact Lens Allowance towards their purchase of contact lenses on the website. $130 is the current standard Contact Lens Allowance, it is not the promised amount; available benefits will vary by Associate based on their previous benefits usage. There is currently no co-pay for contact lenses. The Contact Lens Allowance can be used to purchase contact lenses only, and does not cover other items such as accessories, shipping fees, taxes, etc.

Question 3) What order items are not eligible for payment using my VSP Walmart Vision Plan benefits?

Associates are responsible for all non-covered order charges, including, but not limited to: shipping, handling, and processing fees; taxes; products and accessories, co-payments, etc.

Question 4) Can I use my Associate Optical Discount when I purchase contact lenses using my VSP Walmart Vision Plan benefits?

No. Associates have the option of using either their VSP Walmart Vision Plan OR their Associate Optical Discount, NOT BOTH. This means that the associate discount will NOT be able to be applied to orders that are paid for either in whole or in part using VSP Walmart Vision Plan benefits. If an Associate is found to have no available benefits or if the claim is denied, the Associate Optical Discount will automatically be applied to their order.

Question 5) Why do I still need to provide an additional payment method when my order total is less than my available benefits?

Your VSP Walmart Vision Plan benefits will be verified and used to pay for all eligible items in your order. An additional payment method is required in case there are any amounts not covered by your benefits, or in the event the claim is wholly or partially denied by VSP for any reason.

Question 6) Does guarantee benefits coverage of my order?

No. It is the Associate's responsibility to know their benefits coverage. is not responsible for any non-covered charges including claims that are denied in whole or in part for any reason. Authorization of benefits by does NOT guarantee patient eligibility, patient coverage, or payment of claims. Confirmation of eligibility will be determined upon receipt of the claim by VSP.

Question 7) What happens if VSP denies the claim?

If VSP denies the claim either in whole or in part, will send the Associate an e-mail indicating the claim result and the non-covered charges that will now be charged to their payment method on file in 7 to 10 business days. Orders where the claim is denied in whole will automatically receive the Associate Optical Discount.

Question 8) Who do I contact if I have questions about my VSP Walmart Vision Plan benefits?

Question 9) I need to return and/or exchange my order that was paid for using VSP Walmart Vision Plan benefits; what are my options? Can my benefits be restored for the items I return?

Please notify if you would like to return or exchange your order. Returned items that were paid for using VSP benefits will be accepted for exchange and/or benefits reversal and credit to the additional payment method (if any). All refundable VSP benefit amounts will be submitted to VSP for review and reversal/restoration of benefits. is not able to reimburse or provide credits to Associates for VSP benefits for any reason or circumstance. Question 10) I found my lenses for a cheaper price on a different website, can I use the price match guarantee?

The Price Match Guarantee is not available for orders purchased using VSP Walmart Vision Plan benefits, or that have the Associate Optical Discount applied.

Ordering Instructions

Associates will need to follow the instructions below in order use their VSP Walmart Vision Plan benefits to purchase contact lenses online.

  1. Navigate to the "Associate Discount Center" on WalmartOne.com and use the left hand navigation bar to follow the path of: "Browse Departments" -> "Wellness" -> "Personal Care"

  2. Select the website.

    • You must access the website via the link in the "Associate Discount Center" in order to use your VSP Walmart Vision Plan benefits to pay for your order. The link identifies you as a Walmart/Sam's Club Associate and allows you to access the Associate-Only portions of the website.

    • Please Note: You will want to make sure that the Associate Discount banner appears at the top of the website throughout checkout. This indicates that the website knows that you're an Associate and will show you the Associate-Only portions of the website. If the banner ever disappears from the top of the page, you'll need to go back and re-enter the website via the "Associate Discount Center" on WalmartOne.com.

  3. Add your contact lenses to your cart and proceed to checkout.

  4. After providing your Shipping Information and Eyecare Provider you will be prompted for whether you would like to use your VSP Walmart Vision Plan benefits to pay for your order. Select either "I want to use my available benefits", or "I don't know if I have benefits". If you do not want to use your benefits or don't have benefits available to use select the "I want to use my associate optical discount" option and click the "Continue" button.

  5. If you select to use your benefits, or if you select that you aren't sure if you have benefits, you will be prompted to enter your Insurance Plan Information. All requested information is required by VSP for claim submission.

    • Provide the Last 4 Digits of the Insured Associate's SSN
      • The Insured Associate is the associate who the plan is registered under
    • Select or Add the Insured Associate and enter their information
    • All patients from the order will be listed, check the box next to "This patient is covered under this insurance" for those patients that you would like to use benefits for, and enter their information
    • Read and confirm the Authorize Benefits section and check the box to certify and confirm authorization
    • Note: Failure to provide all necessary and accurate information may result in failure to authorize benefits or partial or full claim denial. Associates are responsible for all non-covered charges.

  6. After providing your Insurance Plan information and continuing to the next step, you will see a prompt for an additional payment method.

    • An additional payment method is required even if your available benefits cover the full cost of the order. This is for any non-covered charges related to your order including wholly or partially denied claims.
    • Prior to your order shipping you will receive an e-mailing detailing the amount to be billed to your benefits and the amount (if any) that will be charged to your additional payment method.

  7. After you complete your order you can check on the status of your claim by going into the My Account section of the website and viewing your order details.

    • Vision Insurance Claims will appear at the bottom of the page.
